Nov. 17, 2012 6:30 pm Benefit Poetry Reading for Michael Czarnecki of FootHills Publishing at Clay on Main in Oley

Hello Poets:

As some of you may know, Michael Czarnecki, his family and his business, FootHills Publishing, suffered a huge tragedy in July when their house and business burnt to the ground while Michael and his wife Carolyn were on a rare vacation in Maine. Because they lived off the grid, no insurance company would cover them so their loss is total.

An online fundraiser was held through Indiegogo. Some of you may have contributed to that. However, the funds raised did not meet the goal set to cover the expenses of rebuilding.

Local poets who have benefitted from Michael Czarnecki’s publishing work would like to gather for a benefit reading. Dolores Kirschner has kindly offered Clay on Main in Oley, PA (www.clayonmain.org) for a reading and will even provide some refreshments.

Clay on Main is a lively place these days, but Saturday evening November 17th is available to us from 6:30 to 8:30pm to have a poetry reading for the benefit of FootHills Publishing. We would like to be able to send a substantial check to Wheeler Hill, New York to help with their rebuilding before winter sets in, so we suggest a donation of $10.00 (but everyone is invited with or without a donation in the spirit of support). The featured readers will be FootHills poets and the time allowed for each poet will depend on how many can participate that evening.

If there are poets who would like to read in support of FootHills but not published by Foothills, please contact me.

Please RSVP as soon as possible to Elizabeth Bodien at ssuccinct@enter.net and if you can help publicize the event, hooray!  And thank you.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Bodien
