May 5th, 2011 6 pm Ed Romond at the Cucina Cafe in the GoggleWorks

Join Berks Bards in welcoming:

Edwin Romond, whose latest book is Dream Teaching (Grayson Books,

2005). His work has appeared in journals such as The Sun, English Journal,

The Pittsburgh Quarterly, Zone 3, Poet Lore, New Letters, Barrow Street,

The Rockhurst Review as well as in college texts and anthologies. Romond

has been awarded poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the

Arts, and from both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Councils on the

Arts. He was named “Poet Laureate” of the Easton, PA Riverview Arts

Festival and “Poet of the Month” in January for the Your Daily Poem

website. In addition, Garrison Keillor read Romond’s poetry on NPR and

the late Tim Russert selected Romond’s memoir, “The Ticket,” for his best

selling book, Wisdom of Our Fathers. Last year he was invited to read at the

prestigious Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, a four day gathering in

Newark, NJ.

Before retiring in 2003, Romond was a public school teacher for 32

years in Wisconsin and New Jersey. He now lives in Wind Gap, PA with his

wife, Mary, and their son, Liam.
